Episode 873 : Baron Von Savant Of Smyth Busters

WMMF Podcast. On This episode of Who Moved My Freedom, I am joined by Caleb Baron Von Savant Of Smyth Busters segments on Brownells YouTube channel. I last hung out with Caleb at the Brownells home office in Grinnell Iowa last September 2021.

Our good friend Roy Hill gave us tour of the original home office which was in the small town of Montezuma, Iowa. At that location is where the set for SmythBusters is located . While there, Caleb and I actually did a video titled “Brownells Smyth Busters Behind The Scenes with Baron Von Savant” We catch up since the last time I saw Caleb in Iowa.

We debate about what makes a pie a pie, is a bean pie a pie and if so is craw fish pie a pie? Hmmm… Seems like I lost this debate but I still believe that a pie is meant to be sweet. On a positive note, I do convince Caleb to add the question “will lint blow up your gun” to the video list idea for upcoming Smyth Buster so you may see that in the near future.

We discuss if it’s a good idea for Brownells to create a video game, since so many folks enjoy the game Escape from Tarkov, Caleb included. There’s even a character in Escape from Tarkov that looks like Caleb. Caleb shares with us his time at the Gundies Award at Drive Tanks in Uvalde Texas where he got to partake in a bucket list adventure. He drove a tank!

We talk about the the Russia-Ukraine crisis and we give our two cents about Russia invading the Ukraine. On 2A Day Inaugural Brownells Second Amendment Day Brownells released new products that we go over and Caleb pulls out some impressive hunting and defense firearms. I try to bring Baron Von Savant to the dark side aka bullpups. I pull out a few in my collection to tempt him after all he enjoys playing Escape from Tarkov which has lots of bullpups in it. This and much more!
